Choose paper with a small test

Compare a few sheets you already have. A light sheet folds easily but can distort; a heavier sheet may hold a shape while requiring more effort to cut. Test a curve, a corner and a narrow connection on each.

Label the samples with the paper source and any useful observations. Use scissors or tools appropriate to your experience and follow their instructions. Keep fingers away from the cutting path and work on a stable surface with good light.
